• Hi all,

I have WooCommerce set-up and I am trying to get credit card payments to work via PayPal

I have enabled “PayPal credit card” and submitted the correct API credentials.

However at checkout the following errors appears after entering credit card details and clicking “submit”

    “Security header is not valid
    (Transaction error) something is wrong”

Does anyone know what the problem might be????

    Thanks

  • Hi,

    Please check if:

    – You are in sandbox mode with a live account
    – You are in live mode with a sandbox account
    – You have a typo in your information
    – You have extra spaces before or after the account credentials you entered in the admin area
    – Your account just isn’t valid due to errors on Paypal’s side.

    Hi, thanks for your reply

I did set up a paypal sandbox account but I never worked out how to use it. I also checked “enable paypal sandbox” in the WooCommerce settings under “paypal credit card” (which is the function I’m having issues with). Could that be it? What should I do to correct it

I have checked for typos and extra spaces in the API credentials and I@m sure it is not that

    THanks for your help

Now I am getting this error message:
“This transaction cannot be processed due to an invalid merchant configuration.
    (Transaction Error) something is wrong.”

PS: I got the API details by going to PayPal , settings, selling preferences, configure API and I selected option 2
“Option 2 – Request API credentials to create your own API username and password.
    This option applies to:
    Custom websites and online shops
Pre-integrated shopping carts running on your own server”

    Is that right?

[Following up from that, if I go for Option 1 – API signature” what third party username do I need to enter?]

Sorry one more snippet of info. I checked the PayPal log and it has this message:
    “07-26-2015 @ 21:31:47 – Generating payment form for order 10524. Notify URL: https://www.pandaebikes.com/wc-api/WC_Gateway_Paypal/”
