We updated to PayPal Payments from the older Express Checkout plugin (currently using 1.4.0 because 1.5.0 generates fatal error as noted elsewhere) and I notice that for every order that is paid via credit card, two extra orders are generated in WooCommerce. This has happened with all orders since we updated to this plugin last week. Looks like this in the order list:

I have logging enabled but there is practically nothing in the log for this plugin. Just a one-liner that does not even indicate the order number.

More info: I have this installed on three WooCommerce sites and it’s doing the same thing on all three.

    Hello @forthinc

thank you for contacting us about this issue. We have not seen this one before, so definitely want to take a closer look at this. The fact that you have 3 sites that have the same issue, could mean that a common component within those sites is causing this issue.
In order to take a closer look, it would be best to have for open a ticket with our service desk, so you can share some more details on your site. If you agree, please follow these instruction. We especially would like to get the System Report of those 3 sites that had this issue, so we can check for these common components.

    Thank you.

    I tried. I get this:

    We couldn’t create a request
System Report cannot exceed 32767 characters

I attached it as a text file. If that didn’t work, I can email it.

Our developers are investigating what’s happening here with the order creation.
The default credit card payment method should not cause this behavior and is the only workaround we could suggest as of now.
Also, apologies for the trouble with our support page. It seems we should extend the character limit in the widget.
In case anyone can’t use the widget, you can also open a ticket directly from our support portal:

This issue will be addressed with our upcoming update 1.6.0.
Apologies for the trouble caused by it.
For now, temporarily disabling the PayPal Card Processing should work around this issue but we a better solution is on the way.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
