I know, there are some Paypal related issues with EDD 3 & it is still in the latest release (3.1.0.1.1).

The issue happens if customers purchase recurring products. The payment was successfully received in Paypal, order was marked as completed in admin area. But in front end, the customer redirected to store from Paypal & got “Error: An unexpected error occurred. Please try again” error message. In the front end, the order is not completed & items still exist in the user cart.

In our live site, customers again purchase the same item multiple times & now we are manually managing payment status.

@sarathlal Sorry you are experiencing this. We’re still actively working with PayPal on this issue. It appears to be within their system and their engineering team is looking into it.

It does not specifically affect EDD 3, it does happen on sites running 2.x versions using PayPal Commerce as well.

Have you verified that when you go to Downloads > Settings > Payments > PayPal that your checkboxes are all green and no 403/400 errors show?

@cklosows Thank you for the reply. I understand that your team is hardly working to resolve this issue.

In our live store, we receive Paypal payments daily & we didn’t notice any Paypal errors before migrating to EDD3. We get errors after migrating to EDD3.

I’m testing with the Paypal sandbox.

In Downloads > Settings > Payments > PayPal, all checkboxes are in green. Also there are no 403/400 errors.

In my case, the issue only happens for recurring products. As stated in my question, for the non recurring product, the payment is successfully completed in admin end & front end. But if a customer purchases a recurring product, order status is updated as completed in the admin area with a small delay. In the front end, the customer gets a warning saying that some error happens & items remain in the customer cart. But payment is successfully received in Paypal.

If the issue is related to Paypal, why issues not happen in non recurring products? So I’m going to debug in that direction.

Now I get success & failure on Paypal payment. ??

Few orders with recurring products are successfully completed & few of them failed.
