    Sorry to hear about this issue, please can you reach out directly to PayPal support to advise you further.

    The error code looks like there’s a block for certain countries with your PayPal account – code=SIGNUP_BLOCKED_IN_COUNTRY_AU. This is generated and handled by PayPal.

    FYI, here’s what PayPal said:

    ‘Thanks for reaching out. My apologies for this issue but I’d be happy to help.

    After doing some digging on this, it appears that due to AU (Australia) compliance regulations, guest checkout and the “create account flow” is not permitted for merchants that take in Shipping information from customers. The reasoning is due to a recent change to AU compliance laws that would now require a major overhaul to our current Guest Checkout flow.

    This overhaul has been requested from our Development team but we don’t have a projected date of when this will be fulfilled as it sounds like all of this is very new.

    I do apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.’

    Hi there, in AUS and getting the same error. Did you end up getting this resolved?

    Unfortunately not. PayPal have said that it’s an issue with their systems, resulting from changes to Australian laws. They haven’t given any indication of when it will be fixed.

    Apparently if users login in to PayPal, then go back and proceed as normal then things will work okay.
