Paypal Payment didn’t work

    Hello

    I want activate paypal payment but didn’t work, so i contact paypal customer service and they replied me :

    Thank you for contacting PayPal Global Merchant and Technical Support. My name is Josh and I’m happy to help.

    The plugin you use for donations (GiveWp) uses a PayPal product called PPCP Custom to collect credit/debit card donations directly on your website. This PayPal product is a product that must be approved by PayPal for use. Your account has not been approved to use the PPCP Custom product and that is why you are seeing the message shown.

    You may want to contact GiveWp’s support team to see if there is a way to only accept PayPal payments (PPCP standard). Otherwise, you may need to use a plugin that does not require this product because this product has not been approved in your account.

    Paypal ask me to contact GiveWp’s support team to see if there is a way to only accept Paypal payments (PPCP standard).

    Please help to fix this problem.

    Glad you reached out.

    The support rep at PayPal should have been able to upgrade your account for you. I would recommend reaching back out to the support team and letting them know you would like to have your account upgraded to support PPCP.

    In the meantime, you can switch to using PayPal Standard. PayPal Standard doesn’t use PPCP, and will be compatible with your account right now, which will allow you to begin receiving donations immediately.

    In case you find it helpful, I’d also like to recommend Stripe as a payment gateway. Stripe is included in your GiveWP integration, and is a really solid, reliable option for donations. They have great support folks, and we see very few issues with their service. They also have a fantastic error logging system, so when you do bump into an issue it is much easier to address. I know moving away from PayPal isn’t always an option, but I like to recommend the best to GiveWP users, and Stripe has been a game changer.

    I also already use stripe, but i want to use paypal as the alternative payment method.

    GiveWP supports 3 PayPal integrations. I’ll skip over the third for now, but here’s what those integrations look like:

    PayPal Donations
    PayPal Donations is essentially PayPal Commerce. This is the account that can be upgraded (if necessary) to use PPCP. Typically this happens automatically, but if it doesn’t you’ll need to check in with PayPal’s support team to have that upgraded.

    PayPal Standard
    PayPal Standard isn’t part of PayPal Commerce, it uses PayPal’s API, which is how it communicates information to and from your website to PayPal. It doesn’t use PayPal Commerce, and cannot be upgraded or used with PPCP because it functions using a completely different tool.

    If you are looking to accept payments with PPCP, I would recommend switching to PayPal Donations. Give that a look and let me know if you have any questions, I’m happy to help if you run into any trouble with that connection process.
