    Good morning,

We have had an issue with a client’s site where since upgrading from the legacy ‘PayPal Standard’ plugin to ‘WooCommerce PayPal Payments’ plugins, the ‘Pay in 3’ message does not show on the single product pages.

We have researched this on the forum and spoken with PayPal support, to be told that when upgrading from the legacy plugin, it can take up to 10 days for the settings to clear and the message to show.
It has been almost 3 weeks, so having gone back to PayPal, we were told:

    Hello [client name],
I checked the code which you had mailed and I see that it is styling code and not related to integration. As platform is WooCommerce, please contact WooCommerce support as they need to fix the code and we do not have access to code. There is no issue related to PayPal.

    Hope this information helps.

    Thanks and Regards,

We know that our custom-built theme does not have any styling which would affect this message, as we didn’t have this option available when we built the site, so we can’t have covered up something that wasn’t there.

I have found a couple of topics that have mentioned the same issue:
    Old topic from 2021
    Topic from last week

I have followed the advice given in the above topics:
    – changing the theme to Storefront to see if it’s an issue with our theme
    – removing other card payment plugins to see if there’s a conflict
    – waiting over 3 weeks for the message to resolve since upgrading from legacy plugin

None of the above has worked.

As per the topic from a week ago, our site also has all the tech loaded into the site, but it just isn’t showing on the product page, and as it’s dynamic through the plugin, I cannot change the settings. It IS however showing on the Checkout page.
We are not using Elementor or any page builder plugins, our theme is entirely custom-built.

If you can please look into this, as given someone else is experiencing this in the same time frame as us, suggests there is a bug in the plugin.
I have provided a link to a product on our staging site for you to view.

    Hello @clnetbop

Thanks for giving adequate information regarding the issue you are facing.

To better judge what could be causing this, we are interested in a copy of your WooCommerce system report and your latest PayPal Payments log files.

The system report can be accessed here:
WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support

You can copy the log files from here:
WooCommerce > Status > Logs > select “woocommerce-paypal-payments-[…]” in the dropdown and click on view.

You can share it privately with us here:
    https://paypal.inpsyde.com/docs/request-support/
Please include a link to this thread.

    Regards,
    Femi

@femiyb Thank you, I have filled out the support request and attached the system status as requested.

However, when trying to get the logs, there is nothing listed for WooCommerce PayPal Payments? Can you think why that would be?

I need to update this – the message IS NOT appearing on the checkout; what I was seeing was the payment gateway title, and not the actual ‘Pay Later’ messaging.

@femiyb I sent the information through that you requested on the support ticket, but have not heard anything back for 5 days.
Can you please provide me with an update?

@femiyb I have replied again to your internal ticket (apologies for the delay, I have been unwell), as you seem to have misunderstood the problem.
It is not the ‘Pay Later’ button that is the issue, but the ‘Pay Later Message’:

@femiyb I replied to your last message on the internal ticketing system on Friday (6 days ago), and despite repeated follow up mails, I am yet to hear from you.
Can you please respond to the ticket again?

    Many thanks.

    Hi @clnetbop

Apologies for the delayed response. We hope you have received our latest message.
I’d also like to point out the team is working with PayPal on better determining the eligibility for Pay Later, so it is clearer which Pay Later options are available for your merchant account. At this time, the feature can only be enabled or disabled in the plugin, but the plugin doesn’t know if PayPal would actually deliver the messages for the current setup.
In any case, please let us know if any questions remain.
    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
