PayPal Gateway not processing credit cards

    I have enabled and connected the PayPal gateway. However when using the credit card fields displayed on the form and selecting the “Donate Now” button at the button, it just constantly says “Please Wait”. If the yellow PayPal button displayed before the credit card fields is used, it works great. Do you know a way to fix this? If not, is there a way to simply disable the credit card fields and have users simply use the yellow PayPal button?

    Hi @efc8d,

    Happy to help.

    A couple of users have reported this issue when:
    – PayPal Donations is the only active payment gateway
    – AND you use the legacy donation form template with the Modal display option

    Check if that applies to your form. The workaround for that is to enable another payment gateway like Paypal Standard or Stripe or use a different form template.

    Currently, it’s not possible to disable the payment options generated by Paypal Donations. If you don’t want to offer the credit card payment option you can always use Paypal Standard instead.

    Hi,

    I replied to another thread that was posted afterwards with the same issue. The above possible issues were not the case for me. I tried having the PayPal Donation enabled with the PayPal Standard or the Offline options and was using the classic form template.

    Honestly, I have had to switch to another plugin. Hopefully this will work as expected in the future but my client needed a working solution.

    Hi efc8d,

    the problems with this GiveWP plugin are piling up. if you don’t mind sharing, what pay gateway solution did you ultimately end up using?

    Hi Steve,

    I ended up using Charitable by WP Charitable. Not as pretty as GiveWP but some css helped to clean it up a bit. Setup is pretty straightforward. The one issue I had was solved by updating the plugin. Hope that helps.

    Any issue that blocks or prevents donations in one way or another is a top-priority for us.
