Just signed up for a PayPal account and tried to follow the directions you give under PayPal setup. I think PayPal changed something since you put the instructions up.
When I tried the sandbox link it does not recognize the password.

  • Hello,

We tested PayPal Payment Method. Following the steps given for PayPal setup will set up the admin account(for PayPal) properly without any error. Make sure the admin’s PayPal account is a business account and email you entered is correct. If it shows you a password error, your PayPal account will have an error. Please reset your account password. It will work.

    Thank You

Thank you for testing that. On checking later I did get the credit card screen to work on the sandbox. What threw me off was the screen presented me with a login to PayPal with my user ID in the PayPal registration box. I don’t know why that should show up. I certainly don’t want buyers to access my account.

    Kind regards,
    Jeff

    Hi @jeff41 ,

As specified earlier, the instructions given in the plugin has been tested and works properly. We do understand that it takes time to configure paypal sandbox and we have noticed that paypal sandbox sometimes do not function in proper way which we have no clue. We would highly recommend to contact paypal for any queries pertaining to paypal.

We would also like to tell you that if you are looking for other payment gateway then we do have a WooCommerce based auction plugin where it will let you use different payment methods that you configure inside WooCommerce as an option to pay for bid or for “buy now”. Here is its simple workflow:

    1. Admin creates an auction product.

    2. User registers. And User then places a bid.

    3. When the auction expires, then the plugin sends an email to the winner with “Pay Now” link. User clicks “Pay Now” and the product is added to his checkout page where he needs to enter his billing details, make the payment and place an order.

    4. Order is created and admin has all the information of the user in that order and he can go to WP Admin > WooCommerce > Orders to see that order.

    Regards,
    Nitesh
