    Using PMPro 1.8.11.2 and Paypal Express Addon .4

    This is for a client site, so I do not have access to what is going on in Paypal, but can get more info if needed or help my client change setting in his Paypal account.

    Customers are signing up for a membership level, making a payment with paypal and I can see the payment was a success. On average the payments show canceled after about 5 minutes, but their accounts stay active (instead of canceling as well).

    What changes do I need to make to ensure payments process properly and do not cancel?

    Shouldn’t a payment that ends up canceled also caused their membership to be canceled?

  • Sounds basically the same issue I am having, the profile gets made, paypal tries to take the initial payment but can’t so cancels the profile, in my case it wasn’t cancelling subscriptions because I had an ipn setup in my paypal account that went somewhere else (to handle donations), and that is what it used to try and cancel the subscription.

    The reason my accounts were being cancelled was there was something wrong with the mail system and it was crashing the ipnhandler (I had IPN Debug on), but the rest still stands, the most likely reason it’s not cancelling your profiles is you have an IPN url set in paypal that doesn’t point to the PMPro ipnhandler.

    No ipn url should be set up in paypal.

    I’m only mobile at the moment and will research better later.

    The issue we were having was actually an issue within paypal. We opened a trouble ticket with them and the sorted the issue out and process the canceled payments.
