I have been setting up PayPal Events for our small theatre group.
In the settings tab, Every time I try to insert an image file inside the email template for the receipt email – it is critical to our customer base to use this receipt form –

    1) the template does not see the image, and
    2) the SAVE CHANGES button takes me to an external 401 page, and – worst –
    3) the site locks my IP address!! I have to keep contacting my admin to unlock me.

The image I am trying to load into the e-mail does not have malware – I created it myself and uploaded it to my media library. Yet the locked files indicate a malware attack.

Please answer! How can I work around this glitch? I need an image inside the receipt email, AND a custom message.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

PS – I paid $59 for the Pro version. If this glitch cannot be fixed, I want a refund. The receipt email must have an embedded image.

Update: I got it working, but PayPal Events has serious conflicts with other plug-ins, most notably with WP Security AND ModSecurity in our cPanel. Both had to be disabled. We are now trusting in our dedicated server’s firewall.

    Hi, Scott,
Actually, now that I have it working (albeit with some deactivation of other security plugins, which is, all in all, fairly normal) I am not at this moment asking for a refund.

I would rather like to know if PayPal Subscriptions can work with PayPal Events to recalculate ticket cost based upon a purchased membership.

Our subscriber base is very old school, easily confused, fussy, with a lot of questions. Mobile phones have made it through as the primary tool, which is a good thing. But I need the plugin to recalculate as follows:

SAY: a former subscriber reinitiates with a new membership on Tuesday, which entitles them to reduced ticket prices, and then
SAY: on Wednesday, that subscriber logs in to buy tickets (at their expected reduced price), and THEN
SAY: on Friday, that subscriber wants to change their performance attendance date, and still get their reduced price.

This sort of interaction is the rule rather than the exception with us. In the past, our former admin used Vendini for all changes and ignored membership issues. 10% charge per change.

We want to make it all sweeter, easier, and with reduced cost to our members.

Does PayPal Subscriptions work to perform such calculations on the back end, provided I create the proper settings?

If not, we’ll probably stick with PayPal Events, but have to do most of our work live and on the phone to offer reduced pricing with memberships.
