I have an old loyal customer trying to buy some soap. He’s getting the message “PayPal error (10606): An error (10606) occurred while processing your PayPal payment. Please contact the store owner for assistance.”

I have no idea what is causing this. Can someone help?

Based on PayPal’s documentation, the 10606 error is because the users credit card has been rejected. More information is available at:

    Thank-you, RK.
It’s quite weird as everything I found on-line about that error code said “Please contact the buyer,” which of course would mean that I had rec’d the message, not the customer, and that the problem is at my end. His message said “contact the store owner.” I called PayPal and she said that my account is fine and that the buyer should contact PayPal. I’ve asked him to do that. I’ll see what he says after he’s done that.

I had assumed that I’ve done something incorrect on my WooCommerce set-up, but I can’t see anything wrong.

Well, I’m no further ahead. My customer had been very patient, but decided to buy from my Etsy shop instead. I have no idea if the same problem is happening with others or not. Is this a problem with my WooCommerce set-up, or with PayPal?
