• I am having trouble getting Pay Pal to credit the donations that are being made on personal (campaign) pages created via the Personal Fundraiser plugin. I get the email notifications that the donations have been made and they are showing up in PayPal but they are not showing up on the individual pages.

All versions are up to date. I have pretty permalinks and reset the PayPal settings. These were all things that were suggested in previous posts.

I also have our IPN set up but it is set to our “store”. Not sure if there is a separate setting for the donation buttons. Any ideas?

  • Hi. I found out that the return url must direct to the same domain where personal fundraiser is activated. If you have wordpress multisite and personal fundraiser on a subdomain, then the return url at paypal also needs to direct to the same subdomain. If you set the return-url to a page on your main domain, the IPN will not work.

I’m pretty sure that’s what is set up. How can I tell if it’s on a “subdomain”? My concern is that we get some of the payments to post but not all. In addition to using IPN for personal fundraiser, we also use it for the “store” on our website as well as regular/recurring payments. Does that make a difference? Any further help you could provide would be appreciated.

A subdomain in wordpress can be set up in two ways. Either as subdomain.mysite.com or mysite.com/subdomain/. If you have installed wordpress multisite, then the admin is called network admin, you can add sites and you have the possibility to network activate plugins and more. If you have one site called mysite.com/store/ and another site called mysite.com/fundraising/ (where personal fundraiser is activated), then the paypal return-url has to direct to mysite.com/fundraising/ and not mysite.com or mysite.com/store/.

The only problem is that PayPal is only giving me an option for on IPN url. I can’t seem to find a way to get more than one. We need it for both the store and the personal fundraiser piece. Am I missing something?

It seems you can only have one IPN url. That url has to go to the right domain. But i am also talking about the return-url in website preferences in paypal. That also has to go to the same domain where you have personal fundraiser activated. If that return-url goes somewhere else, then it won’t work. That’s what made my campaigns to not registering the payments.
