    Hi,

I would like to ask for your assistance regarding the customer receipt for woocommerce paypal. As per client(site and paypal account owner) – their personal details are showing to their customers.

It has been brought to their attention that personal details including their Full Name and Personal ABN are appearing on our customer’s payment confirmation. Sample here https://prnt.sc/1qxbvtc

In my understanding the transaction descriptors are to be set on paypal account however we got a message from paypal saying we should look on our end(the website). As per Paypal, it has something to do with the website settings https://prnt.sc/1qwzsnq

In which I believe such details can’t be set on woocommerce paypal plugin settings. However I’m not quite sure about it so I would like to ask if you could enlighten us about the matter or any idea that could help us resolve the issue.

    Thanks.

    Hello @problematichild

sorry to hear about this issue you are facing; we have not encountered this before, so it took some time to think about a possible cause for this.
I agree with your statement that these details are not entered in our plugin, so they cannot be coming from the plugin itself. This is why I would expect there to be another plugin active that possibly adds details to your recepts.

Were you able to reproduce this issue yourself? If so, you might want to try to isolate which plugin is causing this issue, by deactivating other plugins and testing if the issue still shows.

If you want us to further check out this issue and your settings, you might want to open a ticket with our support desk. You can create a ticket with Inpsyde here: https://paypal.inpsyde.com/docs/request-support/

    Kind regards,
    Joost

@hastibe You are misreading it and stop reporting all of these topics.

That guideline applies in most cases because there are many people who exploit users. The exception is plugin or theme developers who want to obtain more information that may be sensitive in nature.

When a plugin or theme developer does that, that is allowed provided they are not using that contact for nefarious purposes such asking for admin or server access.

In the 5 topics you reported I did not see evidence of that. Just a developer attempting to obtain information that to help a user solve their problem.

In this case the link to that form is only a request for uploaded data. That is allowed.
