Paypal Credit payment SSN NO.

    Hello

    One of my US customers said that when he process paypal credit express pay,which requires he fill out his SSN NO. and his birthday.He said that this information is very private and confident and most of the customers will not fill it.

    How can I deactive this so my customer do not have to fill their SSN NO.?

    Hi, I’m little bit confused here when you say paypal credit express pay, we dont have that option in our plugin, can you double check that and tell me which option from our plugin you are referring to , because per our record we dont require SSN and birthday in any of our Payment gateways.

    Please check that and let me know if there is something we can help with our plugin here.

    @angelleyesupport, he’s referring to “PayPal Credit”, which is part of Express Checkout.

    @ligang, PayPal Credit is very specific for people that wish to create a credit account with PayPal. This is like opening a new credit card with a bank, and it does require a credit check, so that’s why they need the social security number and other information.

    That information is collected inside PayPal’s hosted pages, so they are liable for protecting the sensitive data. If you do wish to remove this, though, all you have to do is disable PayPal Credit in the settings. If you’re using the Smart Buttons you just need to add PayPal Credit to the “hide payment methods” option.
