paypal credit defaults to nigeria

    Hello-

    We are using your plugin on our site. It is working great except when the customer chooses paypal credit they are unable to enter their info/credit card without first changing the country from Nigeria to the United States? Is there a way to default the country choice to the United States instead of Nigeria? I have already spoken to paypal and they say it is the way the plugin is configured. And right now we basically have to teach every customer the first step to change the country….it would be very helpful to have the country default to United States. Thank you!

    In the Express Checkout settings page there is an option to “Use WordPress Locale Code”. If you’re getting the Nigeria page, go ahead and disable that option and save the settings. Then try again. That should solve your problem.

    I’m going to go ahead and mark this as resolved, but let me know if you have any other problems.

    Hello-

    You’re suggestion fixed the issue of defaulting to nigeria….however now it sends the customer to paypal and opens up the paypal credit (pay with paypal without an account) option. Is there a way to have the customer directed to paypal and land on the pay with debit or credit card section? Thank you.

    I guess I’m a little confused about what you’re expecting. Can you send me a screenshot of what you’re seeing? You can’t “Pay with PayPal without an account”. Paying with PayPal means you’re logging into a PayPal account. What you must be seeing is the Pay with Debit/Credit Card without an Account, which is called “guest checkout”, and that’s what allows people to enter a debit/credit card number for payment instead of creating or signing in to a PayPal account.
