    Hello @koukouroukou

This error typically occurs when additional charges, such as extra taxes or fees, are added to the payment after the buyer has authorized it. This can happen if a custom code or third-party plugin is modifying the payment total for PayPal transactions. In consequence the payment process was restarted because the buyer was overcharged, which is not permissible under PSD2 regulations.

When this happens, instead of directing the buyer to the order-received page after closing the PayPal popup, they are redirected to PayPal’s website with the updated order totals to retry the payment.

    To resolve this issue:

    1. Check if you are using any custom code or third-party plugins that might be adding fees or adjusting the order total after the PayPal authorization.
    2. Ensure that no additional PayPal fees are being applied after the buyer has approved the payment.
    3. Verify your settings in WooCommerce to ensure that taxes, shipping costs, or other charges are calculated and finalized before the payment is authorized.

Also, please follow these steps to share your system status report with us:

    1. Navigate to the WooCommerce / Status section in your site’s admin panel.
    2. Click on the Get system report button and then click Copy for support.
    3. Paste the report into our PrivateBin.
    4. After uploading, please share the link here so we can review the details thoroughly.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Kind Regards,

    Krystian

    Hello @koukouroukou

I reviewed your checkout page but didn’t notice any obvious issues that could be causing the problem. To investigate further, we would need more details about the order. If this happens again, please enable the “Logging” option in the Connection tab. This will allow us to capture logs of the event, providing more data for analysis.

Please note that if “Logging” wasn’t enabled previously, there won’t be any records of past transactions. In this case, we’ll need to wait for another failed order to generate new log entries.

    To retrieve logs, navigate to:
WooCommerce > Status > Logs, then select the most recent “woocommerce-paypal-payments” file matching the date of the failed order.

Once you have the log entries, please upload them to our PrivateBin and share the link with us for review.

Lastly, could you also provide a full screenshot of the failed order page? This will help us better understand what’s happening.

    Kind Regards,

    Krystian
