    I usually add a Paypal drop down list for each event by adding the code generated by Paypal into the text area of each individual event. however, something has changed recently -I no longer get the tab with ‘code’ on where I used to enter the code. I’ve put teh code into the text area but it no longer generates a list and button but simply makes a table with no buttons. Can you tell me how I now add the code? If you look at my page you’ll see the correct style in the Northern Ireland event (which I posted a month or more ago) and the Edinburgh Trip which I’ve just posted?

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Ok -I’ve sorted it – it looks like a WordPress change rather than yours, but for anyone else who has the same problem, you click on the + button at the top and choose insert shortcode block, then put the code in there.

    Hi Alan,

    I’m glad you were able to fix it yourself.

    I need to revisit this as I’m having new difficulties and I don’t know if this has been caused by a Very simple Event List update or a WordPress update. A previously inserted Paypal button no longer works as it did only two weeks ago. I’ve tried re-inserting the code and I got some odd results. The wordpress generated code is : <form target=”paypal” action=”https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr&#8221; method=”post”>
    <input type=”hidden” name=”cmd” value=”_s-xclick”>
    <input type=”hidden” name=”hosted_button_id” value=”MHJLQ22YQPZ2N”>
    <table>
    <tr><td><input type=”hidden” name=”on0″ value=”Options”>Options</td></tr><tr><td><select name=”os0″>
    <option value=”Member”>Member £45.00 GBP</option>
    <option value=”Guest”>Guest £55.00 GBP</option>
    </select> </td></tr>
    </table>
    <input type=”hidden” name=”currency_code” value=”GBP”>
    <input type=”image” src=”https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_GB/i/btn/btn_cart_LG.gif&#8221; border=”0″ name=”submit” alt=”PayPal – The safer, easier way to pay online!”>

    </form>
    Now in the event page, I creat a new event -give it a heading Test Event, then add a code block and paste in the Paypal code. When I save and preview all the code is visible:
    If I change the block to pre-formatted, the button appears with its options but on a background or horizontal stripes. If I change the code back to paragraph, the buttons appear as they should but on the code page it now says ‘This block contains unexpected or invalid content’ . What’s going on here? I would post some screenshots but I can’t see a way of attaching them here.

    Hi Alan,

    Did not notice your last reply here until now.. but when I visit your events page I notice you’ve fixed it again?

    Yes I can fix it, I was just trying to understand why it took two or three goes each time before it looked right. I’ve now found that the code is best inserted into the WordPress object called shortcode [/] rather than the one called code <>. I’ve no idea what the difference is, but shortcode works better.
