Trying to set up paypal. Connect Paypal. We are a nonprofit yet it is asking for Beneficial Ownership and it is mandatory that we select 25%. Yet no one owns the charity. It is set up to receive donations and spend those accordingly. So we can’t connect and Paypal is terrible about getting back to us. We are a /Charitable and Social Service Organization’. Agreed to ‘You agree to the Advanced Credit and Debit Card Payments and Virtual Terminal Agreement’. Next asking for a Beneficial Owner. ‘Identify one person who has controlling influence of your business such as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, President or Vice President. One entry is required.’ Next we say person it is making us check that they own at least 25%. No one owns anything? Can’t progress beyond this without lying.

    Hi @zc-web,

    Happy to clarify here.

GiveWP is responsible for gathering your data and then sending it to PayPal to create the connection. However, everything that happens on PayPal’s side like the profile validation is their responsibility and done exclusively on their side of things.

The best way to finish the setup here is by connecting directly with PayPal explaining exactly what you’ve explained here, saying that nobody “owns” the charity and it’s is preventing you from completing the connection to receive donations.

As soon as they enable your account, you should be able to connect to GiveWP.

Please let us know if you have further questions on this or need any additional assistance!
