Using WooCommerce to sell music CDs, and virtual downloads.
Have setup Stripe and PayPal as payment gateways.

    Everything works ok on Stripe.

When purchasing a virtual product using PayPal, a delivery charge (of £1) is added to the checkout page. It is labelled:

    “Delivery: Default – £1.00 GBP”

When clicking ‘Default’ for more information, a pop-up shows:

    “Select a delivery method.
The following shipping options are supplied by the merchant.
    Default – £1.00 GBP”

There is only this delivery method listed (with a radio button), and it cannot be de-selected.

No delivery (shipping) class is assigned to virtual products in WooCommerce.
This does not occur when using Stripe.

How do I prevent this delivery charge from being added?

    UPDATE:

I now realise that there was an extra layer of shipping assigned at the PayPal end.

PayPal > Profile > profile and settings > My selling prefs > Postage calculations

These secondary calculations (assigned by the client) have now been cleared and the buying process functions as expected.

    Hi there,

I understand that a strange “Delivery: Default – £1.00 GBP” shipping method appears at the checkout page when you select PayPal as payment method on your page:

    https://hobbs.skywalkr.net/our-releases/checkout/

I added a couple of products and went to the checkout page on your site and I couldn’t replicate the behavior you’re reporting:

    https://cld.wthms.co/EWYrVJ

I used United States/California address with a zip code of 90004 and the only shipping method I see is the default Flat Rate shipping address.

Perhaps you were using a different address or a specific product combination?

Do you have any plugins that introduce additional shipping methods?

    Thanks for your help Grigaswp.

While you were testing, I managed to find the issue.

The client had forgotten to inform me that he had added a secondary layer of shipping charges to his Paypal preferences.

All resolved now, but thanks for your help.
