    Hi,

I have the standard Woocommerce Paypal plugin – “WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Gateway” – however when the customer is transferred over to Paypal to pay, additional tax amounts are being added.

All products in the store are displayed including tax.

So for example a product costs £12 including tax. When the customer checks out using Paypal and are transferred over to Paypal to make the payment, 20% tax is additionally added taking the total to £14.40, when the price should remain at £12.

I have a very simple UK-only tax rate of 20% and there is no shipping. Any ideas what is causing this problem?

    Hi there! ??

It sounds like this issue is directly related to the WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Payment Gateway plugin.

So in this case, I would like to recommend you to contact the WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Payment Gateway support team so that they can help you with this issue. Here is the link to their support forum:

Please kindly note that this particular forum is for questions that are directly related to the features and functionality of the free WooCommerce plugin. While we’re experts on our own products, third-party plugins are best supported by their own resp. developers (and more importantly, I’d rather not give you any incorrect information).

    I hope this helps. ??

Hi thanks for the reply –

Is that the correct forum though? Is that not for the express checkout plugin which is different from the standard woocommerce paypal tool. I’m not using the express checkout plugin. I thought the standard paypal interface came as part of the basic woocommerce package?

    Thanks

P.S. Perhaps my first message was confusing – I’m not using an additional plugin, just the standard Woocommerce…

    Hi Phil ??

    Thank you for clarifying.

Since taxes are applied once you log-in to PayPal, it’s most likely within your PayPal settings that you need to disable tax rates. Could you please confirm you haven’t configured tax rates within PayPal settings?

    Thanks in advance!
