Payments reported as having been declined with demo account and redirection
-
Hello and thank you for making this plug-in available.
We use WooCommerce 3.5.4 with WordPress 5.0.3 on a server running php 7.2.12
We have set up the plug-in as per instructions making sure to copy the Merchant ID, API key and Code ID correctly. In fact we have used two separate demo accounts just to make sure the problem did not originate from a quirk with a particular viva demo account.
We use redirection and have specified the return URL for both success and failure to be:
?wc-api=WC_Papaki_Vivapayments_Gateway
(we also tried with: wc-api/WC_Papaki_Vivapayments_Gateway )Test mode is active in the plug-in settings.
During tests we used card number 4111 1111 1111 1111 with a future expiration date and ccv of 111 as instructed. The payment seems to be accepted by Viva and we are successfully redirected back to our store. But WooCommerce is always reporting that our payment has been declined by the payment authority. We also get an email from WooCommerce that our payment has been declined.
At the same time, using an alternate payment method (bank transfer) to complete the order goes through flawlessly. Given this and the absence of any errors in the WooCommerce logs (that we could find!) we are not sure how to figure out what is going on.
Could it simply be that Viva demo is in fact declining our payments? How would we test for this? Is there a way to tell by intercepting the response (with the browser’s developer tools) as it reaches the plugin?
And if the Viva redirection does confirm our payment, what should we look for in order to determine how WooCommerce ends up misinterpreting this to be a payment failure?
We would be grateful for any assistance you might be able to provide.
