    Hi
WooCommerce PayPal Payments has a big issue or there is somehting I clearly missed :

the PAYPAL payment button appears on the checkout page EVEN IF you are not logged or even if you didn’t provide all the account creation datas in the checkout page.

As a result the payement can be made without any order placed in the Woocommerce site.

Even if you deactivate the “allow guest users to place an order” option the paypal button is accessible.

With the PayPal standard method you are fully integrated in the WC workflow.

Can’t we have the same with Paypal Payment please?

    thanks

    Cyril

    Hi @pulsarinformatique,

I’m not sure I correctly understand the problem, but it sounds like it’s related to the checkout validation: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-paypal-payments/issues/513
This behavior will be improved in a future update.

Even if you deactivate the “allow guest users to place an order” option the paypal button is accessible.

This setting doesn’t have any impact on the PayPal smart buttons, and I don’t see why it should. The smart buttons would still load on the single product or Cart page, but when the checkout is not accessible to guests the order cannot be completed. Could you please elaborate further on what behavior you would expect?
    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    thanks for your answer.
in our shop we don’t allow guests to place orders.
the Paypal payment plugin displays a paypal button on the bottom part of the WC checkout page EVEN IF the user is not logged in or even if he didn’t fill the account creation fields.

with the PAYPAL standard plugin the issue doesn’t exist since the paypal button doesn’t appear before the user clicks on the WC bottom checkout button (which controls if all the user’s fields are filled)

    Hi @pulsarinformatique,

Apologies for getting back just now!

The buttons are always supposed to show up as a replacement for the regular “Place order” button.
If you are referring to the checkout validation, then the next plugin update 1.8.2 includes measures to prevent users from starting payments without having filled all required fields.
The release should happen soon, but there is also a pre-release version available for testing on GitHub: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-paypal-payments/releases/tag/1.8.2-test1

In any case, if you need further assistance I suggest opening a private support ticket with us a from here: https://paypal.inpsyde.com/docs/request-support/
Please include a link to this thread if you send a private message.
    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
