    Hello together!

    Here is what I noticed:

I placed a test order with payment by invoice.

When I refund the order in WooCommerce after receiving it, it doesn’t communicate that with PayPal. There the amount is still on the PayPal account.

With the other payment methods, the refund works automatically.

I’m curious to hear the feedback!

    Many greetings,
    Monique

    Hello,

thank you for reaching out to us, we are here to help.

The most common issue for this to occur would be that the webhooks that are not communicating correctly with PayPal. Please go to the setting page of our plugin and select the tab “Webhooks Status” or “Connection” (in the last release) and press the button “Resubscribe”. After this, you can still test the webhooks with the button “Simulate” below.

Let me know if this resolves the issue or if you require additional support.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hey Joost,

unfortunately I get an error message when I go to “Resubscribe”.

An alert window appears with the text:

Operation failed. Check WooCommerce logs for more details.
    Webhook subsciption failed.

Can I send you this logs private?

    Many regards,
    Monique

    Hello @momo2005

you can reach us privately via these instructions.

However, You may want to perform a full conflict test to rule out eventual issues with the theme or a different plugin. We recommend temporarily activating the default theme Storefront and disabling all other plugins except for?WooCommerce and?PayPal Payments to see if the behavior persists.

Here’s a guide that explains the steps in more detail: How to test for conflicts

I would expect another plugin (or the theme) to block the webhooks, the goal here is to find out what plugin this is.

Please let us know how this works out for you.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hi @momo2005 & @wolkenkrieger,

I looked into this a bit further, and refunds for Pay upon Invoice payments are currently only possible from the PayPal dashboard.
Only a manual refund can be issued, which affects the WooCommerce order, but not the PayPal order.
In any case, the team is working on making Pay upon Invoice refunds from the WooCommerce order happen in one of the next updates. I hope this makes it into the next one but no promises quite yet.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Hey!

    Thanks for the update.
I tested to reset the webhooks again, but with no success.

    What I do:

I disabled all plugins, expect for:
    WooCommerce
    WooCommerce PayPal Payments
WP Maintenance Mode & Coming Soon

    I used the Theme Storefront.

I tested it with Sandbox and with Live settings. Just in case.

This WordPress installation is a network, does it make a difference?

    Hi @momo2005,

This is not an issue on your site, but rather the functionality is not yet included in the latest plugin version. So all should be fine on your end.
Automatic refunds for Pay upon Invoice orders will be added in one of the next updates, though.
Once this was cleared by the QA department, we can share a test package if you’d like to give it a try. But this may take a few more days.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Hello @momo2005 and @wolkenkrieger

Our release 2.0.0 should provide the functionality to perform a Pay Upon Invoice refund from WooCommerce. Please check and open a new thread if you believe this still does not work with our last release.

    Kind regards,
    Joost
