Payment Status and email notifications

My question is pretty much the same as the last support question regarding email notifications and payment status.
I have used your plugin along side the gravity forms PDF plugin so when payment is made with DPS, a PDF voucher is sent automatically in a notification to an admin to then give / send to a customer.
My concern is that these emails might be being sent when payment is set as processing or failed. Do email notifications still get sent if the payment status is only processing and not approved?
If so, is there a way to delay the email to only send when the status is set as approved? I currently have “Send admin notification only when payment is processed” and “Send user notification only when payment is processed” active on my forms.
