    Here’s my problem:
Customer buys, adds inside cart all is fine until last step when he buys the product (book) and here is what happens:
    – page becomes blank (white)
    – customer cannot see the site at all, unless we delete his order
    – when the order is deleted, we refresh the blank page and we see that order has been sent, all is fine and customer can use the site again.
I will greatly appreciate your help and I thank you in advance for your time

  • Could be a plugin conflict. Deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce. If it works now, reactivate one-by-one and test.

I’ve done that Lorro, but the problems remains

Ensure your theme is up-to-date. The next step would be to deactivate all other plugins and temporarily switch to the default theme to be able to rule out a theme issue. Please post the url to your site.

My site is not public yet, I could privately send you username and password
I have done what you say but the problem is there.

I’m sorry, the forum guidelines are to keep the discussion public.

So if I have understood you, you got the site to the point where you had only WordPress, WooCommerce and the default theme, yet you still had the problem. So its likely that something is corrupted or incompletely installed. To find out, rebuild the site in a subdirectory using a fresh database and fresh downloads using the default theme. If this seetup works, add components one-by-one and test. Ultimately you could point your url to the subdirectory or rebuild in the current directory. You can export / import your products and pages, so there is no need to re-enter those. This always sounds daunting but its a solution and generally much quicker to rebuild than it was to do it the first time.

    Hi Lorro,
I have done all the things you say, but the problem is there.
When I try with any other layout there is no problem.
I’d like to ask you something.
    What is better to do
    – First add woocommerce or the layout?
    Thanks again for your help

Well I’ve not helped at all yet…

Ensure your theme is up-to-date. Some themes don’t issue update notices, so you have to go and look to see if there are any updates available.

“When I try with any other layout there is no problem.” This sounds like you have identified that your theme is causing the problem. Is it a commercial theme? Can your theme vendor help?

With a fresh install, I would start by adding WooCommerce with the default theme and no other plugins. If this works, add your theme. If you have the problem now, you can be sure it is a problem caused by your theme. Either get support from your theme vendor, or, if they won’t support you, consider other themes.

    Hi again lorro,
The theme developers detected the problem . It was in one of their php files. They sent me correct codes and now it’s working.
I do have another question for you.
I notice when I install with default wc theme photos of products ( in my case books ) are smaller.
With any other theme /layout and with exactly same settinga, the same product images are bigger in shop page. Is there a code I could use to change that? An where?
Thanks a lot for your help so far!

The size of the image is controlled by the space on the page, as set by the theme’s designer.

Sometimes its possible to change the layout of the page with some custom css. The code need varies depending on the theme and on what you want to do. You would need to post a link for advice.

The purpose of the settings is so that you can send the right sized image to the user’s browser. If you set the image size too small, the image will be expanded by the browser to fit, and may appear blurry. If you set the image size too large, the image will be reduced by the browser, but page load time will increase a bit.

    Hi Lorro,
Is it important to imort images same size? Or is it irrelevant?
For example, I make sure all images imported are 500X600 and I don’t want them to be cropped.
So, what do you thing should be the sizes in the wc settings?
    Thanks in advance

I think its best if all your images have the same aspect ration. This helps prevent distortion or cropping.

The sizes in the wc settings should be similar to the size of the images on the page, as set by the theme designer.
