I’m trying to set up striper to handle credit card payments on my website in progress here: https://www.warmachinellc.com and no matter what I try I get this error code.

Payment error:Cannot charge a customer that has no active card
Transaction Error: Could not complete your payment

Here is the 402 error info from the stripe dashboard:

    error:
message: “Cannot charge a customer that has no active card”
    type: “card_error”
    param: “card”
    code: “missing”

The new customer info shows up but no test transaction occurs. I’ve tried a bunch of test card numbers and nothing works. Please help!

  • Hi Swath, Im having the same problems testing my site out ??

Somebody in another thread recommended enabling “enable interval” in the WooComm dashboard.

But that didn’t help for me… So Im waiting to hear what your feedback is so I can test also.

    Good luck!

    Thanks Lesiele,
I tried the enable interval option too but that doesn’t work. No matter what I’ve tried it always gives that error. Waiting to hear from Sean.

Hmmm I just found out that the plugin “Root Relative URLs” was causing Striper not to work. When I disable it stripe seems to work fine and I can complete a payment without the error. Not sure what “Root Relative URLs” plugin does but I’m disabling it for now.

Did you ever find a solution for this other than removing that plugin?

What credit card info were you testing with? Did you have SSL at the time or no?

I am using a theme built from roots. This uses root relative urls out of the box. Although it isn’t the plugin SWATH listed above, I assume it is the cause of error I’m receiving.

I’m currently testing on localhost. Any chance of this being fixed?

I’m getting the same error after struggling for a week now. I’ve never had the root relative URLs plugin.
