Suggestion – when a customer makes a mistake entering credit card information, the error message displayed is too technical and does not help customer figure out what to do. For example, if a customer enters an invalid credit card number, they see this error message – “Authorization error: ‘PAN_FAILURE'”. A customer would have no idea what the problem was.

It would be much more helpful to show an error message such as “There was a problem with your transaction. Please check the card number, expiration date, card code and zip code to be sure they are correct.” Most customers could then figure out how to correct the typing mistake on their own. The original error message could still be stored with the order, so admins can see exactly what the error was.
