• Hi to all,

Many Polylang users now have a problem with the Elementor headers and footers.
David Decker doesn’t seem to give support anymore.
It is also not really motivating if you earn little or nothing with the plugin.
Why don’t we ask David to let us pay for the plugin e.g. 10/15 usd yearly and in return he will make sure the plugin stays up to date?

  • I also will be ok to pay

I will pay too! Tried reaching out with David via email and scheduling a zoom call and had no luck.

But will definitely pay, keeping a plugin like this updated can be a daunting task.

Will send him this thread through twitter.

In my opinion, this work should be carried by elementor.
Their business is definitely successful and I am sure that they receive a lot of complaints about language issues.

Many other plugins support different languages, I don’t see why elementor (where multi language support is crucial) shouldn’t care about it.
They would definitely handle this side of the the plugin with the right care, as no one better then them knows elementor code!

I suggest to… sign a petition (or something like that) in order to let them do this job.
    Anyone agree?
I am checking whether is possible to submit a feature request, but there’s a github account only. I am not sure that would do.

    Any idea or suggestion?

Yes, signing some kind of petition would be a good idea

    Totally agree with you !

I am also very interested in a solution! I’ve been in contact with a few suffering people in the meantime and someone told me that after a lot of back and forth she got in touch with a helpful person at Elementor PRO who wrote her the following (message from april 12th):

“Great news (finally!) – We were able to narrow down the specific condition (or one of the conditions) to trigger this frustrating issue consistently on our end. (…)
We have already updated our development team who are more than happy to collaborate (again) with the Polylang plugin’s developers to resolve this compatibility issue. In an effort to do this as quickly as possible, our team will be reaching out to the Polylang plugin author to assist in making any necessary changes to their Polylang’s Elementor connector plugin if needed.”

Hello @medienkurbel, thank you very much for your comment, it gives me a little peace of mind, knowing that they are already working on it …

Does anyone have a workaround? I have a lot of tension with my client right now. I am also willing to pay

Hi @medienkurbel, this is a great news

    Great news. Thanks!!

I am up for paying a bounty for anyone that fixes this asap.

Bad news from the person who gave us all hope. Apparently, after initial efforts, no one from the responsible parties has contacted her again:

“I am extremely unhappy to say the least, that, having paid for the [Polylang] Pro version which they claim offers support, that having written twice now, I have not had the simple courtesy of a reply. To make such a claim of offering support, taking money for it, and not coming up with the goods, is, I believe, FRAUD. Beware Polylang – better to try WPML I guess”

I tried WPML. The philosophy is completely different. In Polylang we have separate pages for the languages. Not so in WPML. You are supposed to piece together a translation from all of the elements separately and not in a page-context but from a huge list of elements (and id’s). For me, over 1000 of them and my site is small.

Example: if you have a tabbed element in your page, each tab header is a separate object to translate. If you have rich text in the tab content field, well, you are going to edit that without WYSIWYG or preview.

If you are writing a book, then WPML is for you. If you are designing a web page – forget about it.

    Hello everyone,

Just to keep you in the loop, we have a new developer that has come forward.

This is really great news and he has already submitted the updates!

Yes, Polylang should be responsible for this. So should Elementor.

I never thought this plugin would grow this large and it’s really tough to support people all the time while still having to crunch time on paying jobs.

Thank you for this thread @randon it shows that some may be willing to pay for this.

I will leave updated links on the front page for those that would like to make a contribution.

    Thanks again everyone.

    Thanks Brad.
I wrote to Elementor as well a few weeks ago. They said they are willing to help Polylang. In the meantime I understand that they have already been in contact. Do you know anything more about it?

By the way, great news about the new developer. Hope he can get this plugin working again.

I will leave updated links on the front page for those that would like to make a contribution.

I meant that the developer could charge a fair price for the updated, working version and that I am willing to pay for it. We haven’t seen anything yet.
