Just curious, I was thinking of going with the “Guided Transfer”/Happiness Expert option to move my blog from .com to .org, but I want to stay with my chosen host. Also, I want to be able to start other blogs using .org on my host later.

What’s my best option for having somebody handle the transfer and set up of my current blog?

Also, I’d like to have them install my Google Analytics/Ad Sense tracking number during the set up. What’s the easiest way to accomplish that??

If my web host offers a similar “Happiness Expert” service to do the transfer, is there a downside to letting them do it? I’ve used them for years, and they seem to be pretty efficient and well-organized.

And finally, will my comments and stats all transfer over as well?

    Thanks for the help.

    -Cheers

Guided Transfer is offered by WordPress.com, and entirely separate entity from www.remarpro.com, so we really can’t help with questions regarding that here.

If you’re looking to hire someone for this please try one of the following sites:

    Mac,

Thanks, but I think you misunderstood my question.

I know that WordPress.com is separate from .org, and offers guided transfer. But their service requires you to use one of their chosen hosts. I’m quite happy with my host and don’t want to do that.

For this reason I’m asking if anyone has experience letting their host (NOT WordPress.com) do the transfer for them. Mine offers that service, but I’d like to see if anyone knows of downsides to letting them do it if they’ve been good and reputable in most other areas of service.

    Thanks.

I haven’t really seen a host offer transfer from WordPress.com, most offer to transfer the database and files (which you can’t get from WordPress.com), so I don’t really have an answer for that.

I guess, if you trust them already, it’s worth a shot. ??

    Thanks, Mac.

Turns out they don’t offer the service ether, so I’m going to look for a tech savvy friend to do the job.
