    Hi there,

We’ve run into an issue where the PayPal messaging is showing up on products that are out of stock.

When a product is out of stock the PayPal buttons do not display. Why does the PayPal messaging remain?

    Kind regards,

    Jethro

    Hi @jethrohazelhurst,

This should be fixed in the upcoming update 1.7.1.
There’s a pre-release version available on GitHub if you want to give it a try and provide feedback before the official release sometime next week (probably): https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-paypal-payments/releases

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Hi Niklas,

    Thanks that’s great!Just a quick note – testing pre-release 1.7.1-test2.

The paypal buttons do not show up for variable products if the product is in stock. But the PayPal messaging shows up whether it’s in or out of stock.

I hope this is fixed before the next release.

    Thanks!

    Jethro

    Hi @jethrohazelhurst,

It appears with the pre-release, the Pay Later messaging is still displayed for variable products regardless of the stock status and the selected variation.
I can also reproduce the buttons not being displayed on the single product page for in-stock variable products when the parent product is set to be out of stock. However, disabling the stock management or setting a positive stock value for the parent should resolve this.

In any case, it appears both these behaviors have been there even before the pre-release. We aim to address the behavior for variable products with the upcoming update as well but no promises.
So the latest pre-release version appears to only affect simple, and not yet variable product types.
In any case, thank you for the feedback!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
