Hi all, thanks in advance for any help on this issue!

I recently installed the Patreon plugin and it’s working swimmingly at making specific webpages accessible to only our Patrons. However, since doing so, I noticed my site runs incredibly slow, in fact some pages don’t even load.

I had no idea what was going on and reached out to my host, who immediately pinpointed the problem – the Patreon plugin. They said that nothing at all was wrong with my server or files, but that the Patreon plugin was using up a ton of resources (they didn’t state why). Sure enough, when I temporarily deactivated the plugin, my site was back to running normally; then when I activated it again, we’re back to being slow.

I’m curious if anyone else has run into this problem and, if so, what you did to fix it? My host is suggesting I upgrade to a new (more expensive) plan, which I’d like to avoid.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Did you turn image locking on?

Thanks so much for the reply. I ended up upping my host plan and it hasn’t been an issue since. I’ll look into the image locking thing.

If the hosting plan was way too small, that could affect something, true, but I don’t remember a case in which anybody had any issue with a standard, affordable hosting plan from Bluehost, Siteground, Godaddy and the like. In any case, if you encounter any issue, just gather as much detail as possible and then you can post a thread in the support forum.
