• I am trying to back up my mysql wordpress db but the database resides on a different server then where wordpress is installed. I have mapped a drive but that is not acceptable to the plugin. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

What error are you getting? Does the path have special char in the path? The plugin is pretty strict on characters on the path because of security reasons.

I’m having the same problem for a client. Was there a solution to this? I do not mean to hijack this post, let me know if I need to create a new thread.

The problem I have is that the website recently moved from one web host server to another, and in the DB Options page, I’m unable to change the path to the new server. Below are the errors:

Your backup folder is NOT writable
To correct this issue, make the folder /OLDSERVER/CLIENT/b1760/ipg.WEBSITEURL/wp-content/backup-db writable.
Your backup folder MIGHT be visible to the public
To correct this issue, move the file from /NEWSERVER/CLIENT/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-dbmanager/htaccess.txt to /OLDSERVER/CLIENT/b1760/ipg.WEBSITEURL1/wp-content/backup-db/.htaccess
To correct this issue, move the file from /NEWSERVER/CLIENT/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-dbmanager/index.php to /OLDSERVER/CLIENT/b1760/ipg.WEBSITEURL/wp-content/backup-db/index.php

    .htaccess is missing from /OLDSERVER/CLIENT/b1760/ipg.WEBSITEURL1/wp-content/backup-db

    index.php is missing from /OLDSERVER/CLIENT/b1760/ipg.WEBSITEURL1/wp-content/backup-db

/OLDSERVER/CLIENT/b1760/ipg.WEBSITEURL1/wp-content/backup-db is not a valid backup path

Please Rectify The Error Highlighted In Red Before Proceeding On.

What happens if you delete the plugin and install it again? Remember to backup or move your backup-db folder before that just in case when deleting the plugin, the back-up folder got deleted.

Yes, thanks Lester, I ended up deleting it.
