Patch: “Do not send validation email”
-
Hello,
We are a happy user of MailPoet and GravityForm, and your plugin “Add-on Gravity Forms for MailPoet 3” has come very handy!
Still, there is one feature that we were missing.
Our MailPoet is configured so that it sends a confirmation message when a subscriber is added to a list. It makes sense to avoid spammy registration from quick “subscribe to our blog” forms, but we have some form that are much more complex and involve payment, and in such case it is a bit confusing for the user to receive 2 mails, the one we send once the form is completed and the one that MailPoet send to activate subscription.
Most of the time, users are not aware of what this second mail is about and ends up skipping it.
That’s why I would like to propose a patch to add a new feature to your add-on:
It is pretty straightforward: if you check the box, MailPoet won’t send the validation email and will add the contact as subscribed directly.
I don’t know if you have a public repository where I could make a pull request, so here is a gist where you can see the code in action:
https://gist.github.com/jonpasquier/b16524c3638a43f4900c32733c95f461
I have added line 81-83, line 112 – 118, line 182 – 193 and modified line 120 and 127
I would also like to draw your attention to a very small bugfix that I proposed in the support forum a couple of months ago. I guess it went unnoticed because it didn’t make into the following release.
Thanks a lot for sharing your plugins, they are very useful and greatly appreciated!
