Paste From Word

  • I’m honestly not sure if this is a problem with the plugin or the new TinyMCE version, but since I wasn’t able to paste from Word/OpenOffice before installing this, I imagine it belongs here.

    Anyway, after updating, the Paste From Word button is gone. Paste As Text now appears to be a toggle between this and pasting as text, but the generated code is a mess that removes all my spacing. This didn’t happen before the update.

    I’m not so much concerned with the ugly code as the loss of spacing. It seems to be ignoring or removing both paragraphs and /br tags. It looks fine in the Visual Editor, but not in the published doc.

  • I hate to throw a kink in it, but the changes don’t seem to affect my setup.
    I have this network activated on a multisite and am configuring the new options in the site menus. I still need to set site config in a simple network activated plugin I think. I think this will still work for most people and don’t want to complicate things because of my setup, but wanted to let you know the image past did not seem to take with TMCE Advanced network activated and individually configured in the site admin menus, but my odd setup may be a poor test case.

    Just checking back to say paste from Word is now working on all my blogs. I updated both TinyMCE and WP core, so I do not know which fixed it, or it it was both. Thanks to whomever took care of the issue.

    That said, buttons for options is always good!

    And it’s broken again. Sometimes. On three separate installs with different themes and various plugins.

    I suspect it is a plugin, but it worked flawlessly for years before the recent change.

    I updated my plugins and it is pasting fine again. Perhaps you should try this too.

    All plugins up to date. I do have a thesis update for two of the three sites, need to do it manually.

    It was working, then it got iffy again. I assume some update caused a conflict.

    I do understand how other plugins or theme can break it. What I do not understand is why it worked despite this for years with a paste from word button, but now it keep getting broken. May have nothing to do with removing the button, but it was NEVER a problem when we had a button.
