Hi team. On a recent import all our users created in the import were required to reset their password on first login. This caused massive issues for us. It hasn’t happened before using the exact same CSV.

What has happened to cause this?

Would setting a default password in a password column stop the requirement for new users to change password on first login?

It seems that you have activated this option when importing.

Deactivate it for the following imports and besides to avoid the problem in the users that you have already imported you have in the tab “Documentation” you have a button that says “Delete all metadata forcing password change for all users” and that will solve the problem.

ah ha, yes I see that thank you! Is there any other way to turn off this requirement? Like a column in the csv import?

You should not activate this requirement when you create new users.

That’s it I don’t want to and it is active – how do I turn it off? I don’t understand.

This is an option you chose when you did the import:

Force users to reset their passwords? If a password is set to an user and you activate this option, the user will be forced to reset their password in their first login

Ahhh okay – so it’s during the import process, not a setting in the plugin or in the csv? My client did the initial upload and must have clicked something.

No, this is in the import process.

Found it! I unclicked it, but had to run a blank import to get the setting to stick. Thank you so much.

OK so I have to see why it is not saved.

Thanks to you for using this plugin but you and your client be careful, tools that deal with users should be treated by reading a lot of documentation to avoid problems like this.
