passworded page now home page

    I wrote a guest post for another site owner. I wanted to let her see it as it would look, so made a password protected page with the guest post on it.

    That page has now taken over as the home page and I can’t make it go away.

    Going to https://mysite.com always sends me to https://mysite.com/secretpage/

    The site is set to show posts on the home page.

    Tried making the page public. N/G
    Made the page a draft. N/G
    Changed themes (using thesis). N/G
    Deleted the page. N/G

    I’ve check the settings and all looks normal.

    I don’t know where this is done in the inards of WP or I’d look for it, but I can’t find anything available on the dashboard that’s doing it.

    Any help would be appreciated much.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    Update:
    I thought about plugins while I was driving to work yesterday. I called my wife and talked her through disabling the Redirction plugin.

    And the homepage was back to normal. Very strange.
