As administrator I build a page using www.remarpro.com 2.84 entering a password on theme “basic simplicity’ a public site.

After exit and return to the site the page requires a password only once for either a logged on administrator or a not logged on user. IE
on WEB SITE exit and return a password entry box and the word “protected” are missing and all data has been displayed.

This is true for parent as well as child pages.

If I restart my computer the password is required.

I must be missing something somewhere. settings, etc

    Thanks in advance Bob

I changed the default values in public-html/wp-pass.php to zero. Both the 10 days and the 864000 seconds need to be zero. I belive this means the life time of the WordPress created cookie is zero. Any other value would implie that the page would remain accessible without password entry to all commers for the lifetime (days) of the cookie ie until the users computer shuts down not just ending the wordPress session. To demonstrate in IE 8 try deleting History/Cookies enter via
    Tools.
I wonder where in all the WordPress lessons and training CD(s) this subject is discussed? Bob
