password reset with default global login

Hi there, thank you for reaching out to the Paid Memberships Pro team.

The PMPro Login shortcode can’t be used in a popup as the PMPro core pages (including a login page) have to be assigned to a specific page for them to work.

If you’d like to keep that login form in a popup, I would recommend looking at a third-party login plugin that can work with a login form in a popup. Once done, navigate to Memberships > Settings > Pages and set the Login page to ‘Use WordPress Default’.

The login-shortcode-in-popup setup is working very well already. No idea why you claim it can’t work. (in the pmpro settings the login page is set to “wordpress default”).. The problem is with the password reset link (that is output by the login-shortcode) – as I mentioned, it goes to the action=reset_pass instead of the action=lostpassword. I guess I could manipulate the code, just thought there might have existed a neater solution..

The login form will show as expected (as you mentioned it does work) but you’ll get unexpected behavior around things like the password reset URL’s as well as the password reset link that is emailed to the member – they’ll be taken to the core WP password reset page instead of your popup.
