I was having problems with Theme My Login v6.3.12 password reset links not working with WordPress 4.3. When I clicked the link, it would generate a “Sorry, that key has expired.” message.

I switched to Custom Login Page Customizer v1.0.3 and it worked as expected with WordPress 4.3.

  • Hello,

I have updated TML 6.4.2 and the issue persists. Users cannot reset password. It simply reloads the same “Please enter your username or email address. You will receive a link to create a new password via email.”

I have deactivated Super Cache on SiteGround and still no way to members to reset password.

Will this be corrected in the near future?

    Thanks. Yael

Where can I download TML 6.4.1 as that did correct the issue; the issue has returned for me in TML 6.4.2 beta?

Perhaps this will help. The email that I receive when resetting password:

    Username: 1930

If this was a mistake, just ignore this email and nothing will happen.

To reset your password, visit the following address: https://amo.greggray.com/resetpass/?key=JDNB1XgntgkSqGLJRtjQ&login=1930

Where is 1930 coming from/ When I change that in the link to my actual username, then the password reset works, however, the default link does not include my username but 1930.

Oh, gosh, I just need to get this working again and am at a loss.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Contact your host. Tell them to disable caching for all of TML’s pages, specifically /resetpass.

    Greetings,

I contacted SiteGround and made sure that all caching is disable for my entire website. The error “Sorry, that key has expired. Please try again.” persists with 6.4-beta2 (6.3.12).

Where can I download 6.4.1 beta? Will this help? Thanks!

@jscmusic, if you can, send me credentials to your site to test with.

Hello, thanks for your help. I actually just got everything to work by reverting back to 6.4 beta-1.

If this is not a sustainable solution, I’m happy to send admin credentials. Should I send them in the email form? I’ve read that this is not a method of support, but should I do it anyway?

    Many thanks!

I would love to have 6.4 beta-1 as that too corrected the issue for me.

However, I did not save the files.

Jeff, can you clarify — having SiteGround disable caching for TML pages will correct the problem I’m having with the url including user ID rather than username?

    Username: 1930

@yael Reinhardt-Matsliah No, I don’t know what that’s about. Are you using the Custom Email module?

    HI Jeff,

No, I was not using the Custom Email module. I had to deactivate TML for now, as this is a large membership site with folks always needing to reset their password!

I need to clone site to staging to further explore the issues.

    Thanks. Yael

    Hi Jeff

I cloned site to staging area and reactivated TML. The issue still remains; in the reset password email, it includes user ID rather than username. If I remove the user Id in the link and add username, the password reset works as it should.

I only have Themed Profiles activated.

Do you have any idea as to why the reset password link is including user ID rather than username?

    Yael

Someone requested that the password be reset for the following account: https://xxx.com

    Username: 1930

If this was a mistake, just ignore this email and nothing will happen.

And you’ve verified that the username is not somehow “1930” in the database?

Hello, I’ve uploaded a dropbox public folder with the 6.4 beta-1 version of TML. Let me know if you can access this. Hope this helps in the meantime.

    HI Jeff,

The username is not 1930 in the database. It is Yael.

We’ve used TML on this site for years; this just started happening with the recent updates.

I’m going to give up on this for now.

    Thanks for following up.
