• I recently upgraded one of my blogs from 2.5 to 2.5.1, and then realized I had forgotten my password for it.

So I start the recovery process, the code that gets sent to me, generates the following result:

Please enter your username or e-mail address. You will receive a new password via e-mail.

    In a yellow box, and:

Sorry, that key does not appear to be valid.

In a pink box, it seems that the ‘key’ has characters in it that WordPress itself isn’t expecting, like: ).

In the most recent code it gave me I tried to turn the ) into an X, in the table and then in the URL I went to, and they both generated the same result.

Anyone have any ideas about this?

A full work around to this is to remove any special characters. It seems that when they changed the WordPress code, to generate symbols: ), $ they forgot to the software to expect to get that as a code.
