• I’ve created a custom post type and applied the native password protection but it renders blank (outputs no content). There’s very little about this problem on the internet. Any idea on how to fix this or do a workaround? My goal is to have an individually password protect these post types. There are lots of plugins that do password protection, but I need to do it at a per page level and would prefer to use the native system.

    Any ideas?

  • Password protecting custom post types works fine for me. Please disable or delete all plugins and switch to the default theme (TwentyEleven since 3.3). After making these changes does the problem still occur? If no, re-enable everything one by one to see which component causes the problem.

Thank you for that tip! I thought I had tried everything but. upon further experimentation, I’ve concluded that it’s an issue with running MAMP on a local install. I moved the exact same database, wordpress install, and theme onto my hosting company and it worked fine. That’s a mystery to me… but THANKS CHRIS!
