Password protected posts/files

  • I’ve been lookind around all the documentation but haven’t really found much. Would really appreciate it if anybody can point me in the right direction.

  • I tried to password protect a page using the “page password” option on the right hand side of the page.

    It appears to accept my password, as when I go to view the page it asks me for the password. I type it in and nothing happens.

    I tried creating a new page, changing the password, anything that I felt was a simple fix.

    So the question: How do I password protect pages within my blog?

    I password protected a page and mostly it wouldn’t let me in, despite the correct password. Sometimes though the page is accessible without password, even from a computer that where never before a password had been entered (i.e. no cookie or so).

    Solved the issue.

    Problem was: WP-Cache. Despite it being deactivated I noticed a “served by WP-Cache” comment in the source. So I removed the plugin completely by FTP. That did the trick.

    MODERATORS: There are many unresolved threads around this issue. Could you verify my solution and get back on them?
