The following password-protected page was working fine until the site was pushed live: https://www.drkittay.com/resources/patient-forms/

It now returns a “Problem Loading Page” error in all browsers when a password is entered. You may try entering password1 to see the error.

I have tried deactivating all plugins, deactivating and reactivating the theme, etc etc etc. None of the commonly discussed solutions worked.

The site is currently using the Medical Plus theme.

    Any suggestions?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    — What do you mean by reset? I also do not have any inactive plugins in the folder.

Please do try all of the steps I suggested above. If you need further details of how to carry out the reset, check the page at the link I posted above.

I apologize. I did not notice “resetting the plugins folder” was a link. I just tried that and it did not work.

    Any other suggestions?

Not really – especially since I can’t see anything wrong with the page you linked to above.

Enter password1 in the password box. What happens?

OK – now I can see the issue. Have you checked your server’s error logs for clues? The fact that this page was working on another server (& we’ve ruled everything WordPress related out) implies that this is a server/hosting issue.

It was on a development URL on the same server before it went live.

Then I can’t account for the issue but it looks server related to me.
