Password protected pages ask for username & redirect to WP Admin

  • I created a password protected page (https://www.priestpersonnel.org/audio/priest-retreat-sept-2010/) and it prompts for a username as well as a password…when entered, it redirects to WP admin login. In fact, even on the homepage it ask for a Username and Password and the post is not password protected.

    I have another blog (www.priest4christ.com), and when a page is password protected it only asks for a password – not a username as well – (https://www.priest4christ.com/the-call/audio/) so I know it’s not the theme interference. I think I am missing a file, but don’t know what or where it could be located in my root folder.

    Any suggestions?

    I’m having the same issue but only w/ specific browsers, and it’s not all the time… I think I’ve heard it’s got something to do with the .htaccess file, but I can’t be sure. Trying to find the old thread now…
