• I have a page on a website where I inserted a ticket system for customer support. Since it really is for customers only, I set the page as ‘password-protected’. However, when I navigate to the page, the actual content is still visible. It shows the password field and says that the page is password protected but the ticket form is accessible. I’m checking the page when I’m logged out! When I password-protect other pages, you cannot see the contents anymore.

    Any help?

I’m having a similar problem using the Gridly theme. The page inserts the word “Protected:” before the page title when you access it. But it doesn’t prompt for the password. The strange thing is that it prompts for the password when you create it, but on accessing later it seems to drop back to public view. Hope someone can help. Do I need a separate plug-in? Many thanks. A.

@allison Kirsop: It is impolite to interrupt another poster’s ongoing thread with a question of your own. It causes significant problems for the forum’s volunteers and prevents us from being able to track issues by topic. Please post your own topic.

@johnny82: I’m seeing a password protected page. I think what you’re seeing is related to the storage of the Post password in a short-term cookie. The cookie should expire after a few days/weeks but, in the meantime, you could try deleting the cookie manually.

@esmi: My most profuse apologies. I did not mean to be impolite, merely acknowledging a similar problem as a means of providing information to volunteers which may help in generating an answer for Johnny82. I consider myself well and truly reprimanded.

No matter on which computer I open it, it looks like this:

You have the insert-box for the password, below the ticket form that’s supposed to be hidden, and at the bottom another hint that this page is password protected.

I deleted the cookies for this site!

What are you using to generate that form?

I’m using the Support Tickets c2 plug-in. Thanks for your help!

[No bumping. If it’s that urgent, consider hiring someone.]

It may be that this plugin is not compatible with password protected posts. If it is not correctly adding its form(s) via the_content() filter, then the forms will never be hidden in this situation. I think this is something you need to raise with the plugin’s developer(s).
