Password Protected Entries – Any progress?

  • In 1.2.2 is there any update on whether the password protected entries are working?

    I’m in the same boat as alot of other people; where I’ll make an entry private, give it a password and when you type the password, it just refreshes and doesn’t show the entry.

    Any ideas?

    may be its something to do with your computer . did u try on any other browser / computer ?

    same problem here : it works with Explorer, but not with Firefox, and I only use Firefox :-/

    I have the same problem.
    I must say that this support board is for from user friendly…

    nah, just takes some time to get used to the simple interface.

    Well, it’s really difficult to trace your own postings…

    Why isn’t there a moderator, or some sort of a repository, so that solutions/answers from users are more easily made available ?
    The issue mentioned here is posted serveral times….
    But still no solution / hints ?

    Anyone know if the password protected entries work in 1.5?

    I’m in the same situation, but I’m using IE instead of Firefox. . .I know someone mentioned clearing out cookies and temporary files in a previous post. . .I don’t suppose anyone could tell me 1) how to do that; and 2) if that even works.

    Hmm.. I use Firefox. I haven’t made a password protected entry, but I’ve made some password protected pages. They seem to work.

    try them here and see if you can access them. Links to pages are in the side nav. Only the ABOUT ME page should be accessible.

    Yep, I see what you mean. I can actually get mine to appear just like that, but once I type in my password, the page merely refreshes, which I find highly annoying. I took it down for the night (it’s still saved as a draft), because I just couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it, and it’s late so my patience isn’t too great (my site’s at https://layla.nu but as I said, I took down the password-protected entry since it wasn’t working).

    In all honesty, a friend installed WordPress for me, because she said Greymatter had some security issues. I really like it, but I really not so wonderful when it comes to tweeking things (like how the right “table” ends up in the wrong place on all the comments pages, heh).

    I took a quick look at your site. I really love the design colors (the black with shades of blues). Very lovely.

    I have this problem (type password, enter, page refreshes and does nothing).
    Using WP 1.5 / Firefox.
    *sigh*

    In previous installs, I used to have that problem. But do not have any problems in 1.5. In the past, I believe it was a cookie issue and if I clicked on the permalink for the post after the page refreshed, I was taken to the entry. Does that work for any of you? I know it may not be ideal but it worked for me at least. Sorry I can’t be of any more help than that.

    Once I enabled permalinks, it worked ??

    Now I just have to figure out how to get pages showing with the GreenTrack theme!
