Password protect page

I have a website where I want to password protect the main blog page (not the static home page). I put password protect on there, but for some reason it never shows up. I even tried clearing my cache and browser history, but that doesn’t seem to be the problem.

I’ve been playing around and I found that when I password protect a static page it will work for that, but will not protect the entire page of blog posts. Do I need to password protect each post or is there a way to password protect the entire page?
