Password protect only some pages?

  • Using this plugin, is it possible to:

    1. Password protect only some pages? Keep some public, but some private, if a user logs in w/ their LDAP/AD/SSO credentials?

    2. Can users log in to those private pages without being added as a user in the WP admin?

    I’m using WP 4.0 multisite install.

  • This plugin creates a WordPress user for anyone authenticated by LDAP/AD. I *think* the default user role (usually “Subscriber”) is assigned. If you create the user ahead of time, you can assign the role (we use the “Import Users from CSV” plugin to create our users and assign their roles).

    I also disabled the “create user” functionality in the code, as we have a university-wide LDAP, but only want to allow our college into our site.

    For more granular control, you may want to use a “members” or “groups” plugin – these probably will not automatically interface with this or the “Import…” plugins.
