Password Protect just stopped working?

  • Odd. I’ve had 2 posts password protected for about a year now and all of a sudden the password is no longer working to open the article.

    I am positive the password is correct… I’ve even tried changing it. The post comes up protected, just the password does not open it.

    Any clues? Could it have something to do with the new release of WordPress? I’m using a WooThemes theme and haven’t upgraded it since the last WP update.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
