Hi, can you carry out a test and simple add the shortcode in a test post or test page to see what happens.

    [sdm_download_link id=255]

    Thank you

Yes I did try that but when I click the link the next page that opens says ‘Error! This download requires a password.’

Hi, check the following documentation. In this documentation focus on the following title Password Protecting a Downloadable File. Did you set up your protected content in the same manner?

I am trying to do the same thing and have followed the documentation – The password protection works if I just have the download shortcut but if I use the sdm_download_link shortcode, I just get ‘Error! This download requires a password.’

@gigasloop, thank you for reporting this. The plugin developers will investigate further your issue.

The password protected download link needs a password before the link can be clicked. So you can’t just directly link to the static file and expect the plugin to serve the download when a password hasn’t been entered.

I have added an improvement that should help in redirecting the user to the download item’s page so they can enter a valid password. This will be available in the new release of the plugin.

When viewing the download item’s page the title appears twice at the top of the page. Is there a way to remove one of these identical titles? Thanks.
